Hair Crisis

Holy Crap! I got a letter in the mail from my salon this week. They were announcing that my hair dresser is leaving the salon after being there for 8 years! WHAT?!?!?!?
I'm totally panicking! I have been to so many salons and so many different stylists...and the results have been some really terrible haircuts. Not only is she leaving the salon, she not doing hair anymore or anywhere.
Needless to say I stressed! I hate the nervous feeling of trying to find a new person and the whole time they are cutting my hair I'm freaking out. No one does my hair like amber. I even facebooked her and said if she was going to be doing hair out of her car/garage/house/dog house that I would come there. no response. I'm so sad ;(
The only consolation about this whole things is that they offered me a free haircut with someone else. Not that I want to even think about that. Its a good thing I got my haircut about a week before the letter. Now I have 5-6 more weeks to worry about it.

I hate this letter!

What a Weekend!

Hey Everyone! Can you believe its almost fourth of July...I can't!

This weekend the Hubster and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary. I have included some brief photos of our journey. Unfortunately I didn't take my real camera. I wanted to get a shot of my dress from White House Black Market!? bummer!

The first place we went to is called "Color Me Mine." It like a studio where you can go pick out bare ceramic piece and then paint them. They will glaze and fire it for you and then you have your own designed piece of artwork. We were here for 2.5 hours. We had so much fun. Even Jared said how cool the place was.

Here is the pottery wall. 1st you go pick a piece to start painting

Here is out table. That butterfly is the color pallet

Here is the Hubster diligently working on his mug. IT TOOK HIM FOREVER...CAN WE SAY PERFECTIONIST!

Here is us with our finished pieces. I did a cereal bowl and cared made a coffee mug.

Here we are before heading out to dinner...to bad you cant see the dress.
I don't know if you can see this but I bought a my first lipstick this weekend! I know...shock. I'm just more of  a colored gloss kind of girl. Jared mentioned recently that he likes fire engine red lip color. So I bought this bright pink...Yikes. I looked like a hooker. Does anyone else have this problem. I wiped about 3/4's of it off and the color I have on in this picture is the result. I liked it alot one it was mellowed out and covered with gloss.

For dinner we went to the House of Japan. They do a whole show on the grill right in front of you. So much fun. Do you like bean sprouts? They are amazing!
See the lady behind the chief...in the above picture. She was so annoying. I think this picture almost perfectly catches the scowl she had on her face the whole night. I'm glad she was at the other end of the table. I felt bad for the chief though because she kept telling him what to do.
Here is the flaming volcano made out of onions

Here is us at the dinner table

Opening Comedian Tim Gather
The first comedian was so hysterical. He sounds very country! I cried that I laughed so hard. We were at a table right next to the stage. I was so afraid the whole time that they were going to point and say stuff about the crowd and then we were be fresh meat! Luckily that didn't happen.

Headliner Brent Ernst
This second comedian was still pretty good. He straight up sounds like he is from Jersey Shore.
Well now you have journeyed with us though our entire day! We had a really fun time and I would recommend finding a local "Color Me Mine."

Easy Pork Roast

Slow Cooker Salsa Pulled Pork

Serves 6 to 10 ( I divided this recipe in half-follow all the same instructions-cut cook time to 8 hours)

4 pounds port butt (shoulder roast)
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
10 fresh garlic cloves
12 ounces of salsa ( I used Giant Eagles Organic salsa -mild)

Place the pork in a slow cooker. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper

Smash the garlic cloves and peel them. Chop them roughly and sprinkle them over the pork. Pour the salsa over the pork and garlic.

Put the lid on the slow cooker and set on low for 12 hours

After 12 hours, shred the pork (it should be melting and tender). Serve with rice, beans and Salsa.

So I duplicated this recipe after going to a cooking class. So much fun. I even went to the indian grocery store and bought this great rice!

I highly recommend this recipe. It was a huge sucess. My husband does not like tomatoes and he could not even tell they were in the salsa because it all cooks into the meat.

Here is a few pictures of the process. Warning raw meat is not very pretty.

So yummy!

Enjoy ladies! Have a great week!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday

I recently bought a Groupon for Old Navy. They were offering if you bought 10 dollars they would give you 20 dollars in store to shop. I LOVE GROUPON! I thought I would give old navy a try. I can normally find something in there and if not they have PJ type cloths and I can blow it on that. I can home Friday and our local Old Navy was offering a preview for their Grand Re-Opening. I thought this would be a good time to go spend my groupon. I got there and they were offering 50% off shorts....steal!

Here's a preview of some of the cheap gems I bought.

Old navy had all their V-neck tee's on sale for 5 bucks.. I should have gotten more colors...buyers regret!

I love really Dark jean and shorts. I got these for 50% off. They were 10 bucks!

I bought this tank too! I don't really get to wear these very often because my work makes us dress up and tanks of any kind or not allowed. Oh well... it will just have to be a weekend shirt. This was 16 dollars.

So I walk out of old navy after my groupon and my 20% off coupon spending around 5 bucks! score!

I also thought I would share about this perfume that I recently discovered. I don't think it is new but I have been looking for a new perfume. I was tired of the stuff I was wearing. I LOVE this! Its smells light and summery. The only thing that I don't love about it is that I use like 3 squirts, which feels like a lot, and if is still worn off by about mid day.

Just the cutest story... of course the hubby thinks its all fake... I don't care... I LOVE IT.
Here's a picture if you missed it!

so romantic!

Green Bean Casserole

Happy Monday Everyone!

Well we had my father over this weekend to celebrate fathers day. I thought I would share a dish that I tried to make on my own for the first time. I made green bean casserole. I love this dish! My mom traditionally makes it for all holidays. I thought I would try myself this year.

Recipe:
3 can cut green beans
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 cup milk
splash of worstershire sauce
1 can french's french fried onions

Mix green beans and soup together. put mixture into a glass casserole dish. Sprinkle with french fried onions. Cook at 350 for 1 hour with lid or foil. 10 mins before pull out of the oven and top with top with a generous covering of french friend onions and bake without covering the final 10 mins.
Let set for 10 mins then serve!

This recipe is very easy and a nice addition to a meal where you are feeding over 4 people!
